Keep Every Member Payment Connected to the Relationship Behind It.
Manage one-time and recurring payments, receivables, refunds, customer credits, configured gateways and upcoming payment activity inside Salesforce with Bonza Payments.
Salesforce-native payment management suiteIllustrative member payment relationship for one sample member, Demo Member, whose Salesforce member context is connected. The current payment position shows $525.00 collected, $300.00 outstanding, $300.00 due and $75.00 upcoming. The payment lifecycle shows an initial payment of $450.00, a recurring payment of $75.00, $300.00 outstanding, a next payment on a relevant date and relevant refund or customer credit activity. Payment context alongside it records the configured gateway, the relevant payment method and a relevant AI payment insight. Every figure on this page is illustrative sample data. Expected payment activity is not collected payment, and no renewal, retention, churn or member-engagement figure appears anywhere on this page.
The member relationship continues. The payment history should too.

How Does Bonza Payments Support Membership & Association Organizations?
Payment management — not membership management.
Bonza Payments provides Salesforce-native payment management for membership and association organizations that need to keep relevant member payment activity connected to Salesforce. It covers relevant one-time and recurring payments, receivables, due and overdue payment visibility, refunds, customer credits, configured payment gateways, customer-facing payment experiences and upcoming payment visibility.
Put plainly: Bonza Payments can connect relevant one-time payments, recurring payments, receivables, refunds, customer credits, configured payment gateways and upcoming payment visibility inside Salesforce. Bonza should not be positioned as an association-management, membership-management or membership-renewal platform.
The real problem
The Member Relationship Is Ongoing. The Payment Process Often Becomes Fragmented.
For membership organizations, payment visibility should extend beyond the first transaction to include recurring activity, outstanding payments, refunds, customer credits and upcoming payment activity where relevant.
Strong member context in Salesforce
- The member or constituent record
- Relationship history
- Relevant member context
Eight places one answer can hide
- Payment gateways
- Recurring payment schedules
- Invoices
- Finance spreadsheets
- Receivables
- Refund records
- Customer-credit records
- Customer-facing payment experiences
The organization knows the member. The gateway knows the transaction. Finance knows part of the receivable. Member services may know the question. But the full payment story may still need to be reconstructed — and the reconstruction is the cost.
The problem is not only payment collection. It is payment continuity across the member relationship.
The shape of it
A Member Payment Is Usually More Than One Transaction.
Membership relationships often continue over time. The payment view should too.
Membership relationships can span multiple payment events. A transaction-only view loses that continuity.
Signature · one member, many payment moments
One Member Relationship Can Contain Many Payment Events.
Two lanes, nine moments, one sample member. The upper lane is the membership relationship and it never changes as you move — because Bonza does not set it. The lower lane is the payment position, and it moves at every moment.
The member sees one relationship. The payment operation should reflect that continuity.

Four different questions

Capabilities
Nine Parts of One Member Payment Lifecycle.
Each one is a page of its own. Nothing here claims more than that page does.
Support One-Time Member Payments Without Creating a Separate Process.
Not every member-related payment belongs to a recurring cycle. A relevant one-time or ad hoc payment stays connected to the wider Salesforce payment relationship.
Manage Repeating Member Payments as an Ongoing Relationship.
Where relevant member payments repeat over time, Bonza can manage recurring payment activity within the broader Salesforce payment lifecycle.
Know What Has Been Collected—and What Is Still Outstanding.
A successful payment record does not automatically tell operations what remains unresolved. Receivables connects relevant collected and outstanding activity with Salesforce context — the starting point for improving receivables visibility.
Know Which Member Payments Are Still Expected—and Which Need Attention.
Timing gives operational meaning to an unpaid amount. Not every outstanding payment should be treated the same way.
See What Member Payment Activity Is Expected Next.
Payment Forecasting gives teams forward visibility into relevant expected payment activity — which is how finance can see upcoming member payment activity before the date arrives.
See Payment-Method Expiry Before the Next Relevant Payment.
An expiring payment method may be relevant where a future payment is expected. It is an attention signal. It is not proof that the next payment will fail.
Keep Refunds and Customer Credits Connected to the Member Payment History.
Relevant payment value can change after collection. Refunds and customer credits should remain connected with the member payment story — which is how a refund affects the member payment relationship without breaking its history.
Customer credit is available credit recorded and managed within Bonza Payments — never a member wallet, a cash balance or stored funds.
Explore simplify refunds & creditsUse Multiple Payment Gateways Without Creating Multiple Member Payment Operations.
An association may have more than one configured payment provider for different business or operational requirements. Configured payment gateways handle relevant underlying payment processing, while Bonza Payments manages the broader Salesforce member payment context around those transactions.
Give Members a Clearer Way to Understand and Complete Payment.
The member should not need to understand the organization's payment architecture. The relevant customer payment experience should remain connected to the wider Salesforce payment relationship.
Customer-facing payments
Bring Relevant Member Payments Into Salesforce Experience Cloud.
For organizations already using Experience Cloud, relevant customer-facing payment journeys can remain connected to the wider Salesforce environment — so members can pay through a Salesforce-connected experience.
Attention, not automation
Use Payment Intelligence to Surface Changes Across the Member Base.
Surface changes, then stop
Safe ground: relevant payments moved into overdue status, expected recurring payment activity changed, payment methods approach expiry before future payment activity. Artificial intelligence is used to surface those payment signals, and a person decides what happens next.
See member payment operations from one Salesforce view
A membership payment dashboard should show collected, outstanding, due, overdue, upcoming and recurring activity, alongside the member payment position, the payment forecast, what needs attention, and recent payment activity — payments, refunds, customer credits and recurring payments.
Two different questions
The Membership Relationship Explains Who the Member Is. The Payment Relationship Explains What Is Happening Financially.
Who the member is
- Member
- Status
- Relationship
- Relevant member context
What is happening financially
- Collected
- Outstanding
- Due
- Overdue
- Next payment
- Refund
- Customer credit
- Payment method context
A member can be active in the CRM while their payment position requires a different operational view. Bonza does not control membership status.
An important trust distinction
Recurring Payment and Membership Renewal Are Related—but They Are Not the Same Process.
Recurring payment and membership renewal are related but distinct. Bonza can manage recurring payment activity without being the system that controls membership renewal logic.
Bonza does not own this process
- Membership rules
- Status
- Eligibility
- Benefits
- Term dates
- Renewal communications
- Association-management logic
What Bonza actually operates
- Payment schedule
- Payment event
- Payment status
- Next payment
- Outstanding amount
- Payment method context
- Relevant payment history
Bonza can support recurring payment operations without being the system that determines membership status or renewal eligibility.
The journey, end to end
Keep the Payment Journey Connected Across the Member Relationship.
A payment journey, not a membership lifecycle. Bonza covers the payment layer only.
Two teams, one payment story
Give Finance and Member-Facing Teams Different Views of the Same Payment Story.
Finance and member-facing teams ask different questions. They should not have to work from disconnected payment histories — which is how member services can see the same payment history finance is looking at.
- Collected
- Outstanding
- Due
- Overdue
- Upcoming
- Payment history
- Refund context
- Customer credit
- Next payment context
What often goes wrong
Five Payment-Operations Mistakes That Create Friction Across the Member Relationship.
Treating every payment as a standalone transaction
The ongoing member relationship disappears from the payment view, and each payment has to be explained on its own.
Assuming recurring payments equal membership renewal
Payment logic and membership-status logic become blurred, and neither system can be trusted to answer for the other.
Using the gateway as the payment operating system
The transaction is visible but the broader Salesforce payment context is fragmented.
Tracking outstanding payments in spreadsheets
Member and payment context must be reconstructed manually, every time someone asks.
Treating refunds and credits as side processes
The member payment history becomes difficult to explain after collection.
The hidden cost
The Real Cost Is Often the Work Required to Reconstruct the Member Payment Story.
A simple member payment question may require checking Salesforce, a gateway portal, a recurring-payment record, an invoice, receivables data, refund history, a customer credit and a spreadsheet. The operational cost is not simply the number of systems. It is the work required to answer four questions: what happened, what remains open, what is expected next, and what changed.
If finance and member services reconstruct the same payment story differently, the payment operation is fragmented.

FAQ
Membership & Association Payment Questions.
Twelve answers, including the ones that are a plain no.
How can membership organizations manage member payments in Salesforce?
By keeping the payment operation in the same environment as the member relationship. Bonza Payments is Salesforce-native, so relevant one-time and recurring payment activity, receivables, refunds, customer credits and upcoming payment visibility stay associated with the Salesforce member or customer record rather than living in a gateway portal, a recurring-payment system and a spreadsheet separately.
Can Bonza support recurring member payments?
Yes, where member payments repeat over time. Bonza manages the recurring payment schedule, the current payment, payment status, the next expected payment, any outstanding amount and relevant payment method context, within the broader Salesforce payment lifecycle. It does not calculate dues, manage membership plans or act as a membership billing engine.
Can Bonza support one-time and recurring payments together?
Yes, and that combination is common in member-based organizations. A relevant one-time or ad hoc payment and a recurring arrangement can run on the same member, with both visible in one payment position rather than as two unrelated systems. An outstanding amount from one motion stays visible while the other continues collecting.
Does Bonza manage membership renewals?
No. Bonza should not be positioned as a membership-renewal engine. Bonza can manage relevant recurring payment activity, while membership status and renewal rules should remain in the appropriate membership or CRM system. A recurring payment and a membership renewal are related but distinct, and Bonza operates only the payment side.
Does Bonza replace an association management system?
No. Bonza focuses on Salesforce-native payment management. Member profiles, membership status and levels, renewal rules, chapters, committees, events, credentials, benefits, community access and member communications stay with the association-management or CRM system, and Bonza does not claim any of them.
Can Bonza show outstanding, due and overdue member payments?
Yes. Outstanding, due and overdue are treated as different operational states rather than one unpaid figure, because timing is what gives an unpaid amount meaning. There is no automated renewal reminder, automated dunning, automatic email or SMS chasing, late-fee automation or debt collection — a person decides what happens next.
Can Bonza show upcoming recurring payments?
Yes. Payment Forecasting gives forward visibility into relevant expected payment activity, including upcoming payments and recurring payment activity. Expected payment activity is not collected payment, and nothing is presented as guaranteed future revenue. It is not membership revenue forecasting, renewal forecasting, retention forecasting or treasury forecasting.
Can Bonza show payment methods approaching expiry?
Yes, as timing context. Where a payment method expires before a future expected payment, that ordering can be surfaced so a person can look at it. It is an attention signal, not proof that the next payment will fail, and there is no automatic card updater, automatic member notification or automatic remediation.
Can Bonza manage refunds and customer credits?
Yes. A refund stays attached to the payment it came from, and customer credit is recorded and managed within Bonza Payments as available credit against the member, available for relevant future payment use where supported. It is not a member wallet, a cash balance or stored funds, and Bonza does not hold member money.
Can Bonza work with multiple payment gateways?
Yes. Bonza supports multiple configured gateways, including a configured default and explicit selection where a scenario calls for it, while relevant payment activity stays connected to Salesforce. There is no smart routing, automatic failover, least-cost routing, automatic retry through another gateway or settlement reconciliation, and provider capabilities are not interchangeable.
Can members make payments through Salesforce Experience Cloud?
Where an organization already uses Experience Cloud, relevant customer-facing payment journeys can stay connected to the wider Salesforce environment, with payment activity flowing back to Salesforce. Bonza does not provide member community management, authentication, profile administration, membership self-service, renewal management or event registration.
Does Bonza replace an ERP or accounting system?
No. Bonza manages the customer payment lifecycle, not the general ledger or the accounting close. It is not an ERP, an accounting system, a subscription billing platform, a donation or fundraising platform, a certification or credentialing platform, or an event-management platform.
